Languages sought: Asian, Chinese, Middle Eastern (Farsi and Pashtu), Portugese, Russian, Spanish, and African.
Scope of the position is:
Scientific Verbatim Transcription, Characteristic Identification, Event Identification/Diarization, Contect/Entitiy Extraction, Image/Video Annotation, and Corporate Data Management Support.
Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) Skill Levels Scale 3/3 or better
Agency's PQE or Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) exams are acceptable forms to document the language expertise.
Demonstrated experience and proficiency in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) or Information Assurance (IA) analysis.
The principal responsibility of the expert linguist is to annotate media for technologies that process spoken language.
Primary needs are for voice analysis experience, linguistic capabilities, and computer skills (SUN/UNIX familiarity) to enable use of Government provided software tools.
Exam score or certification must clearly document the expertise (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in the specific language/dialect and when the exam was taken.
The skill levels needed to accomplish the task are set such that the annotations are accurate and completed in the established time.
Due to the nature of this work, excellent native, command of the English Language is required both verbally and oral.
